Overview
The Heltec Wireless Stick V3 is a compact LoRa development board built around the ESP32-S3FN8 MCU and Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver. It packs WiFi, Bluetooth LE 5.0, and long-range LoRa radio into a slim 58mm x 23mm form factor with a built-in 0.49-inch OLED status display and integrated battery management.
Designed for both prototyping and deployment, the board supports Meshtastic mesh networking firmware out of the box and is compatible with LoRaWAN via Heltec's libraries. The dual-row 2.54mm pin headers expose a generous set of GPIOs including ADC, touch, SPI, I2C, and UART interfaces, making it well-suited for sensor nodes, environmental monitoring, and off-grid communication relays.
The V3 revision upgrades the MCU from ESP32 to the more capable ESP32-S3, bringing improved processing power, native USB support, and BLE 5.0. An onboard CP2102 USB-to-serial bridge handles programming and debugging via USB-C, while the SH1.25 battery connector with charge management enables portable and solar-powered deployments.
With strong community support across Arduino, PlatformIO, MicroPython, and Zephyr RTOS, the Wireless Stick V3 is a versatile platform for LoRa-based IoT projects ranging from agricultural monitoring to urban mesh networks.
