Overview
The Heltec Wireless Shell V3 (HTIT-Wsh_V3) is an ultra-compact LoRa node module measuring just 38.4 x 16.1 x 2.8mm, built around the ESP32-S3FN8 MCU and Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver. Its 1.27mm stamp-hole design allows it to be soldered directly onto a carrier PCB, making it ideal for custom product development and embedded IoT applications where space is at a premium.
The module integrates WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5 (LE + Mesh), and LoRa connectivity with dual IPEX 1.0 antenna connectors for independent WiFi/BLE and LoRa antennas. It achieves an impressive deep sleep current of under 10uA, a significant improvement over the V2's 30uA, making it well-suited for battery-powered deployments in remote sensing and mesh networking applications.
The Wireless Shell V3 includes RF shielding, ESD protection, and short-circuit protection out of the box. It runs the same ESP32-S3 + SX1262 core as Heltec's popular WiFi LoRa 32 V3, giving it full compatibility with the Arduino ecosystem, Heltec's ESP32 libraries, and community firmware projects like Meshtastic and MeshCore for off-grid mesh communication.
With a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) for improved frequency stability and support for LoRaWAN protocol, the module serves applications ranging from smart agriculture and environmental monitoring to industrial IoT sensor networks and urban mesh communication infrastructure.
