Overview
The Arduino UNO R4 WiFi is the latest evolution of the world's most popular development board. It replaces the ATmega328P with a Renesas RA4M1 ARM Cortex-M4F running at 48MHz, delivering significantly more processing power, memory (256KB flash, 32KB SRAM), and new peripherals including a 12-bit DAC, CAN 2.0B bus, and an on-chip op-amp — all while maintaining full pin and shield compatibility with the classic UNO R3 form factor.
The board integrates an ESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8 module that provides WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth LE 5.0 connectivity, enabling IoT projects, cloud integration via Arduino IoT Cloud, and over-the-air updates. A unique 12×8 red LED matrix on the top of the board can display animations, sensor data, or custom graphics without any external display. The Qwiic/STEMMA QT connector makes it easy to daisy-chain I2C sensors and peripherals.
With USB-C connectivity, HID support for keyboard/mouse emulation, extended 6-24V input voltage tolerance, and a real-time clock with VRTC battery backup pin, the UNO R4 WiFi bridges the gap between beginner-friendly Arduino development and advanced embedded applications. It is fully supported by the Arduino IDE, Arduino Cloud, and MicroPython.
