The BigTreeTech Panda Touch is a dedicated 5-inch touchscreen controller designed specifically for Bambu Lab X1, P1, and A1 series 3D printers. It is powered by the Xtensa 32-bit LX7 dual-core ESP32-S3R8 running at up to 240MHz, with 16MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM for smooth UI rendering. The 800x480 IPS display supports 16.7 million colors with full-view IPS optics.
Connectivity is 2.4GHz WiFi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n), enabling wireless control of up to 4 Bambu Lab printers simultaneously from a single panel. A USB port supports FAT32 formatted drives (up to 8GB) for file management. An I2C header allows optional sensor expansion. The device includes a built-in lithium battery providing up to 30 minutes of portable operation, with a 1.2-hour full charge time via USB-C. Operating current draws 0.6A with screen on (battery mode) or 0.95A while charging.
The Panda Touch mounts on Bambu Lab printers using printable or magnetic mounts, and communicates over the printer's LAN API. Firmware source code and schematics are open-source on GitHub. It supports cloud mode with Bambu's 2FA access code (firmware V1.0.6+).
