NerdMiner v2 Bitcoin Solo Miner
An open-source Bitcoin solo mining curiosity for 20+ ESP32 boards including the LILYGO T-HMI, T-Display S3, and T-Display S3 AMOLED — primarily educational desktop hardware with live mining statistics.
Overview
NerdMiner v2 is a free and open-source project that turns a small ESP32 development board into a Bitcoin solo mining device. The chances of finding a block are astronomically small, but that is entirely the point — it is designed for education, to show how the Stratum protocol and SHA-256 mining loop work, and to produce attractive desktop hardware displaying real-time pool statistics.
Supported Hardware
The project supports over 20 boards. LILYGO boards with first-class support include the T-HMI (2.8″ touch), T-Display S3, T-Display S3 AMOLED, T-Display S3 AMOLED Touch, T-Display 1.14″, T-QT Pro, and T-Dongle S3. The T-HMI's resistive touchscreen is used for navigating the multiple display modes.
Features
Dual-core multithreaded mining connects to public-pool.io and compatible solo pools. Multiple screen modes cycle through live share counts, a large digital clock face, and global network statistics. The project has 2.6k GitHub stars and 38 contributors.
Build Details
Written in C (96.6%) and C++ (3.3%), built with PlatformIO. Pre-compiled binaries are available for each supported board variant, so flashing requires no toolchain setup. Latest release is v1.8.3.
