ESPHome Weather Display for T-Display S3

A Home Assistant–integrated weather display for the LILYGO T-Display S3 using ESPHome, showing AccuWeather daily forecasts and Met.no hourly forecasts with button-toggled views.

Boards:ESP32-S3
Firmware:ESPHomeHome Assistant
Use Cases:Display & DashboardHome AutomationEnvironmental Monitoring

Overview

This project wires the LILYGO T-Display S3 directly into Home Assistant via ESPHome, pulling weather data from two complementary sources: AccuWeather for the daily forecast view and Met.no for the hourly view. A single button press on the device switches between them, and after 15 seconds of inactivity it automatically returns to the daily view.

Features

Because the display is managed entirely through ESPHome YAML, there is no custom firmware to compile — updates are pushed over-the-air through Home Assistant. The non-touch variant of the T-Display S3 is used, relying on the physical buttons for navigation. The project targets ESPHome 2023.2.4 and uses a C++ display lambda for the screen rendering.

Build Details

Configuration files are small and well-commented, making this an approachable starting point for anyone already running Home Assistant. The Apache-licensed repository includes a full screenshot of the finished display and notes on board wiring. This is one of the most-starred community projects specifically for the T-Display S3 (33 stars, 3 forks).
