Boards:ESP32-S3
Firmware:ArduinoPlatformIO
Use Cases:Display & DashboardEnvironmental Monitoring

Overview

Weather Micro Station turns the LILYGO T-Display S3 into a polished desktop weather display. It fetches live conditions from the OpenWeatherMap API every 3 minutes and renders them with smooth 40 FPS animations — a noticeably fluid experience for a microcontroller project.

Features

The display shows temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, visibility, and cloud coverage alongside one of 18 condition-specific weather icons. A scrolling ticker at the bottom of the screen delivers real-time weather summaries with professional animated transitions. Brightness is adjustable via the onboard hardware buttons, and the device reconnects automatically after WiFi drops.

Build Details

The project is structured as a PlatformIO workspace with modular C++ source files and uses secure credential storage so WiFi and API keys are never hardcoded in the sketch. NTP synchronization keeps the internal clock accurate. The MIT-licensed codebase is straightforward to adapt for different locations or display layouts.
