## Description

## Overview

The FeatherS3 with u.FL is a premium Feather-format ESP32-S3 board from Unexpected Maker, featuring a u.FL (IPEX/MHF1) antenna connector in place of the onboard PCB antenna found on the standard FeatherS3. This version is preferred when the board will be installed inside an enclosure or at a fixed location where a specific external antenna provides better coverage or directionality.

The ESP32-S3 dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor operates at 240 MHz and is paired with 16 MB of QSPI flash and 8 MB of QSPI PSRAM — the largest storage configuration in the FeatherS3 lineup. Two 700 mA 3.3V LDO regulators provide separated power rails for the board logic and peripherals. Two STEMMA QT connectors allow easy chaining of I2C devices, and native USB Serial JTAG simplifies debugging without external programmers.

The FeatherS3 u.FL is FeatherWing-compatible, working with the broad ecosystem of Adafruit and third-party Feather accessories. The UF2 bootloader supports drag-and-drop programming. Compatible with CircuitPython, Arduino 2.0.3+, MicroPython, and ESP-IDF. An external antenna must be attached before powering up with active radio use.
