## Description

## Overview

The FeatherS2 Neo is an ESP32-S2 development board produced by Unexpected Maker in the popular Adafruit Feather form factor. It stands out with its integrated 5×5 addressable RGB LED matrix controlled through a dedicated user-switchable LDO regulator, making it ideal for colorful wearable projects and IoT displays without consuming main-board power when idle.

The board is built around the ESP32-S2 single-core 240 MHz processor paired with 4 MB SPI Flash and 2 MB extra PSRAM, delivering ample resources for CircuitPython, MicroPython, or Arduino projects requiring Wi-Fi connectivity. A 3D high-gain antenna handles 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n communication. The 700 mA 3.3V LDO regulator, built-in LiPo battery charging with indicator LED, VBAT voltage sensing, and VBUS detection make it a complete battery-ready platform.

A STEMMA QT connector (Qwiic-compatible) provides plug-and-play I2C connectivity for sensors and peripherals. The UF2 bootloader simplifies firmware updates via drag-and-drop, and CircuitPython support is mature and well-documented. With 22 available GPIO pins and all standard Feather peripherals, the FeatherS2 Neo is compatible with a large ecosystem of FeatherWing add-on boards.
