Overview
The TinyS3 with u.FL is a variant of Unexpected Maker's popular TinyS3 board, differing only in antenna configuration: instead of the onboard 3D PCB antenna, it provides a u.FL (IPEX/MHF1) connector for attaching an external antenna. This makes it ideal for projects installed inside metal enclosures, products requiring a specific antenna placement, or applications needing extended Wi-Fi and Bluetooth range.
The ESP32-S3 dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor runs at 240 MHz with 8 MB of QSPI flash and 8 MB of extra QSPI PSRAM — substantial resources for TensorFlow Lite models, image buffers, or CircuitPython with large libraries. The ultra-low deep-sleep current makes it suitable for battery-powered deployments. A 700 mA 3.3V LDO regulator, LiPo battery charging via JST-PH pads, VBAT voltage sense, and 5V presence detection are all included.
The TinyS3 u.FL maintains form-factor compatibility with TinyPICO and TinyS2 boards, and the UF2 bootloader enables drag-and-drop firmware updates. With 17 available GPIO pins and all standard ESP32-S3 peripherals, it is compatible with CircuitPython, Arduino 2.0.3+, MicroPython, and ESP-IDF. An external antenna (sold separately) must be connected before use.
