Overview
The ProS3 with u.FL is the external-antenna variant of Unexpected Maker's ProS3 development board, featuring a u.FL (IPEX/MHF1) connector instead of the integrated PCB antenna. It is targeted at professional and commercial applications where the antenna must be positioned externally — inside a product enclosure, on a remote cable, or pointed in a specific direction for optimal coverage.
The ESP32-S3 processor provides dual Xtensa LX7 cores at 240 MHz, paired with a RISC-V ultra-low-power co-processor. Storage is 16 MB QSPI flash and 8 MB QSPI PSRAM via castellated edge pads, enabling direct SMT integration into custom PCBs. Two 700 mA 3.3V LDOs offer separated power domains; LDO2 is user-controlled and automatically shuts off during deep sleep for minimal standby current. A LiPo battery connector with JST-PicoBlade, VBAT and 5V sense pins, and USB Type-C with ESD and back-feed protection round out the power system.
With 27 GPIO pins on castellated headers, native USB Serial JTAG, a low-power RGB LED, and STEMMA QT connector, the ProS3 u.FL is a production-ready platform for prototyping through to deployment. UF2 bootloader, CircuitPython, Arduino 2.0.3+, MicroPython, and ESP-IDF are all supported.
