## Description

## Overview

The TinyS3 is Unexpected Maker's ESP32-S3 companion to the popular TinyPICO and TinyS2, fitting a dual-core 240 MHz ESP32-S3 with 8 MB QSPI Flash and 8 MB QSPI PSRAM into the same 35 × 17.8 mm TinyPICO footprint. The step up to the ESP32-S3 adds a second core, BLE 5 with Mesh support, and the ESP32-S3's vector AI instructions — all while maintaining the TinyPICO-compatible board outline.

A 700 mA 3.3 V LDO regulator, LiPo battery charging via JST pads, and a USB Serial JTAG interface are all included. The onboard low-power RGB LED can be disabled in firmware for minimum current draw during deep sleep. Seventeen GPIO pins are broken out, and the board ships with a UF2 bootloader and CircuitPython pre-loaded for immediate use.

WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 5 with LE and Mesh are provided natively by the ESP32-S3. The RISC-V ultra-low-power co-processor handles background tasks during deep sleep, enabling aggressive power saving on battery. USB-C with reverse back-feed protection prevents damage from incorrect cables.

The TinyS3 is compatible with Unexpected Maker's full range of TinyPICO shields and breakouts, and the ESP32-S3's enlarged GPIO set means more peripherals can be attached simultaneously than on earlier Tiny boards.
