Overview

The Olimex ESP32-C6-EVB is a CERN Open Hardware certified evaluation board designed for home automation and industrial control applications. Built around the Espressif ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N4 module, it combines WiFi 6, BLE 5, Zigbee, Thread, and Matter connectivity with four mains-rated electromechanical relays and four opto-isolated digital inputs on a single board.

The four relays are rated for 10A at 240VAC, making them suitable for switching lighting circuits, heating elements, motors, and other household or industrial loads directly. The four opto-isolated inputs accept voltages up to 30VDC, providing safe interfacing to external sensors, switches, or PLC outputs without risk to the main board.

Powered by the ESP32-C6 RISC-V SoC running at up to 160MHz with 4MB flash and 512KB SRAM, the board supports programming via ESP-IDF and Arduino IDE. The USB-C port doubles as a JTAG debug interface. An 8–50V DC power jack allows powering the board directly from industrial power supplies or 12V/24V systems.

Full hardware design files — schematics, KiCad sources, and Gerbers — are available on GitHub under OSHW certification (UID BG0000116), making this one of the few truly open-source hardware relay boards with Matter support.
