The DFRobot ESP32-S3 AI Camera is a compact all-in-one AI vision module built around the ESP32-S3R8 dual-core processor with 16MB flash and 8MB PSRAM. It integrates a 2MP OV3660 camera with 160-degree wide-angle lens and 940nm infrared illumination for day and night vision, an I2S microphone for voice input, and a MAX98357 I2S audio amplifier with speaker output for bidirectional audio communication.

The module supports edge-based image recognition through platforms like Edge Impulse, YOLOv5, and OpenCV, enabling on-device AI inference without cloud dependency. It also integrates with OpenAI's ChatGPT for voice-controlled interactions and real-time Q&A about captured images. An onboard LTR-308 ambient light sensor enables automatic IR illumination switching.

With WiFi and BLE 5.0 connectivity, a Gravity I2C/UART expansion port, microSD card slot, and flexible power input (5V USB-C or 3.7-15V VIN), the ESP32-S3 AI Camera targets applications including smart doorbells, baby monitors, license plate recognition, AI robot companions, and security surveillance systems.
