## Description

## Overview

The BigTreeTech Octopus Max EZ V1.0 is the most capable board in the Octopus family, designed as an upgraded successor to the Octopus Pro. It is built around the 550MHz ARM Cortex-M7 STM32H723ZET6 MCU and features 10 EZ-type stepper driver sockets — BigTreeTech's proprietary pinless driver system where drivers install without exposed pins, reducing the risk of accidental shorts during maintenance.

The board supports voltage selection of 24V, 12V, or 5V for CNC fans without requiring external step-down converters. An upgraded eFuse protection circuit responds faster than traditional fuses and automatically resets after an overload, protecting the board from short circuits and over-current events. The thermistor input circuit is also protected to prevent MCU damage from shorted heater connections. A replaceable blade fuse is still included for main power protection.

Connectivity includes a CAN bus port, WiFi module interface (ESP8266/ESP3D compatible), onboard SPI for accelerometer input (Klipper input shaping), onboard SD card, 3 four-pin PWM fan ports (water cooling compatible), proximity switch port with NPN/PNP and 5V/12V/24V voltage selection, and 2 Neopixel RGB outputs. The board supports power loss recovery, filament runout detection, BLTouch, auto power-off, and USB drive updates. Board dimensions are 160×100mm, matching the standard Octopus form factor.
