Overview

The BigTreeTech Manta M8P V1.1 is an 8-axis 3D printer control board purpose-built for Klipper. Like the M4P, it uses a Board-to-Board (BTB) connector to mount a Raspberry Pi CM4 or BigTreeTech CB1 directly on the board, enabling a self-contained Klipper system without external cabling. The M8P uses a 32-bit 64MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ STM32G0B1VET6 MCU and offers 8 stepper driver sockets supporting drivers such as TMC5160, TMC2209, TMC2225/2226, TMC2208, TMC2130, ST820, LV8729, DRV8825, and A4988.

The board includes selectable CNC fan voltage (5V/12V/24V), eFuse circuit protection for automatic overload recovery, a CAN bus port (added in V1.1 with XH2.54 2-pin connector), a 40-pin GPIO expansion header, and up to 10A heated bed output. The TPS5450-5A power chip provides 5A to the compute module. Ethernet is provided by the CM4 (Gigabit) or CB1 (100M). Input voltage supports both VIN (12V/24V) and a high-voltage motor rail (up to 56V).

The Manta M8P V1.1 is particularly well-suited for larger Voron 2.4 and VzBot builds that require many independent stepper axes. It supports BLTouch, filament runout sensors, auto power-off, RGB lighting, and a wide variety of display types including SPI and HDMI screens. Board dimensions are 170×102.7mm. All schematics and PCB files are available open source on GitHub.
