Overview
The BigTreeTech Manta M4P is a compact 3D printer control board designed from the ground up for Klipper firmware. Its defining feature is a Board-to-Board (BTB) connector compatible with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) or BigTreeTech's own CB1 module, which allows direct installation of the Linux host system on the motherboard itself — eliminating the need for a separate Raspberry Pi and the messy USB cable typically connecting it to the printer board.
The board uses a 32-bit 64MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ STM32G0B0RE microcontroller and provides 4 stepper driver sockets (X, Y, dual-Z, E0) supporting EZ, TMC2209, TMC2130, TMC5160, and other standard drivers. The TPS5450-5A power chip provides up to 5A output to power the CM4/CB1 module. When paired with a CM4, the board gains Gigabit Ethernet (1000M); with CB1, 100M Ethernet is available. Three USB 2.0 ports, DSI and CSI connectors (CM4 only), and a 40-pin GPIO header further extend system capabilities.
Additional features include BLTouch support, dual RGB Neopixel outputs, filament runout detection, RepRapDiscount EXP-1/EXP-2 display headers, auto power-off, and support for SPI and HDMI screens (HDMI only with CB1). The Manta M4P is ideal for Voron V0, Ender 3, and similarly sized printers. Board dimensions are 160×95mm. Full open-source documentation and schematics are available on the BigTreeTech GitHub.
