## Description

## Overview

The Heltec CubeCell AB01 V2 is an ultra-compact LoRa/LoRaWAN development board built around the ASR6502 System-in-Package, which integrates an ARM Cortex-M0+ MCU running at 48MHz with a Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver. This second-generation board upgrades to USB Type-C, adds a high-precision temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), and features improved RF circuit impedance matching over the original AB01.

Designed for extreme low-power operation, the board draws just 3.5uA in deep sleep mode, making it exceptionally well-suited for battery-powered and solar-harvesting remote sensor deployments. The integrated power management supports 3.7V lithium battery charging and solar panel input (5.5-7V), with overcharge and discharge protection built in. This makes the AB01 V2 a turnkey platform for deploying autonomous LoRaWAN sensor nodes in the field.

The board supports the full LoRaWAN 1.0.2 specification across all major ISM bands (433MHz, 470-510MHz, 863-870MHz, 902-928MHz) with up to +21dBm transmit power and -134dBm receive sensitivity. Community members have successfully built rain gauges, compost heap temperature monitors, irrigation controllers, and other remote environmental sensing projects using this board. Development is done through the CubeCell Arduino framework, which provides full Arduino IDE compatibility with built-in LoRaWAN stack support.

The board features CE and FCC certification, ESD protection on all pins, and RF shielding for reliable operation in demanding environments. With 8 exposed GPIO pins including I2C, SPI, UART, and a 12-bit ADC, the AB01 V2 provides enough connectivity for most sensor-based LoRaWAN applications while maintaining its tiny 40.64 x 22.86mm footprint.
