Overview

The LILYGO T7-C6 is a compact development board built around the ESP32-C6-MINI-1 module, bringing next-generation wireless protocols to the ESP32 ecosystem. The ESP32-C6 is Espressif's first chip combining WiFi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5 LE, and IEEE 802.15.4 radio in a single chip, enabling native support for Zigbee, Thread, and Matter protocols.

This makes the T7-C6 particularly valuable for smart home developers building Matter-over-Thread devices or Zigbee coordinators/end devices. The chip's RISC-V architecture delivers efficient performance for protocol handling while maintaining low power consumption suitable for battery-operated applications.

The board features a clean form factor with USB-C for programming and power. With 4MB of flash and sufficient GPIO pins broken out, it covers most IoT application needs. The combination of WiFi 6's improved efficiency and Thread's mesh networking capability opens new possibilities for dense IoT deployments.

Priced as an affordable entry point into the ESP32-C6 ecosystem, the T7-C6 is compatible with ESP-IDF, Arduino, and Zephyr RTOS, with MicroPython and CircuitPython support emerging from the community.
