Overview

Matterbridge is a Matter plugin manager written in TypeScript/Node.js that acts as a universal bridge between your existing smart home devices and Matter-compatible ecosystems. Instead of pairing each device individually, you pair Matterbridge once and it exposes all registered plugins as Matter devices to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Home Assistant simultaneously.

The project runs on any Linux machine (Raspberry Pi, NAS, server) with as little as 512MB RAM, and is available as a Docker image, systemd service, or macOS launchctl daemon. It aims to make porting Homebridge plugins to Matter straightforward by providing base classes that developers can extend.

Popular plugin integrations include Zigbee2MQTT (expose all Zigbee devices as Matter), Shelly devices, BTHome sensors, Home Assistant entities, and Somfy Tahoma blinds. The project is built on top of the open-source matter.js library.
