## Description

## Overview

The Pycom SiPy is a triple-network IoT development board combining Espressif ESP32 computing with SigFox, WiFi, and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity in one compact module. Measuring 55.1mm × 20.3mm, it fits a standard breadboard and can communicate over three complementary network types from a single device.

SigFox is the standout connectivity option: the onboard +22dBm transmitter can reach ranges up to 50km in open terrain and 3-10km in urban environments, using SigFox's global low-power wide-area network. This makes the SiPy suitable for applications requiring wide-area coverage with minimal data payloads — asset tracking, environmental monitoring, utility metering, and industrial telemetry. The device supports RCZ2 and RCZ4 frequency zones and includes an FSK mode for peer-to-peer communication.

WiFi at 1km range and Bluetooth LE provide short to medium range connectivity options that complement the long-range SigFox capability. All three radio systems are programmable via MicroPython using Pycom's extended firmware, and the Pymakr IDE provides a productive development environment with REPL access.

The dual-core ESP32 SoC delivers substantial computing power with hardware floating-point, hardware encryption, and a ULP co-processor for wake-from-sleep sensor polling. The SiPy was one of the first modules to combine SigFox with ESP32, making it a versatile platform for prototyping LPWAN IoT applications before transitioning to production hardware.
