Overview

The Sonoff ZBMini is an ultra-compact Zigbee 3.0 smart switch designed to fit behind existing wall switches. It enables smart control of lights and other devices without replacing your wall switch, supporting both smart and manual control simultaneously.

Key Features

  • Zigbee 3.0 protocol with mesh networking support
  • Two-way switch support — works with existing toggle or momentary switches
  • Tiny form factor — fits inside most wall switch boxes
  • No neutral wire version available (ZBMini-L variant)
  • Compatible with Home Assistant, SmartThings, Amazon Echo, and other Zigbee coordinators
  • Voice control via Alexa and Google Home (through compatible hubs)

Getting Started

  1. Wire the ZBMini behind your existing wall switch (Line, Neutral, Load, and Switch input)
  2. Pair with your Zigbee coordinator (Home Assistant ZHA/Zigbee2MQTT, SmartThings, etc.)
  3. Configure automations and scenes as needed

Firmware & Customization

The ZBMini runs on a Zigbee chip and can be paired with Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA for full local control without cloud dependency. Custom firmware options are limited compared to WiFi devices, but Zigbee2MQTT provides extensive configuration options including power-on behavior, switch type configuration, and reporting intervals.
