Overview

The ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N8 is an engineering-grade surface-mount module from Espressif based on the ESP32-C6 SoC. It is pin-to-pin compatible with the ESP32-WROOM series and doubles the flash of the N4 variant with 8 MB of Quad SPI storage. A PCB antenna is integrated for 2.4 GHz operation without external RF hardware.

The ESP32-C6 RISC-V core operates at up to 160 MHz and is specifically designed for ultra-low-power IoT use cases. Wireless coverage includes Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee 3.0, and Thread, making it one of the most versatile connectivity chips available at this price point. It supports 512 KB SRAM, 16 KB low-power SRAM, and all common bus interfaces.

This is a bare module for advanced designers creating custom PCBs — no onboard USB, regulator, or support circuitry. For prototyping, consider the ESP32-C6-DevKitC-1 development board. The N8 variant is the currently in-stock option at Adafruit, replacing the discontinued N4 version.
