Overview
The ESP32-C6-DevKitC-1-N8 is Espressif's official reference development board for the ESP32-C6 SoC, bringing together Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee 3.0, and Thread in a single platform for smart-home and IoT prototyping. The N8 variant ships with 8 MB of SPI flash, providing plenty of space for application code and OTA firmware updates.
The board exposes all 45 available GPIO pins on standard 2.54 mm headers for easy breadboard and jumper-wire use. Two USB Type-C connectors are provided: one connects through a USB-to-UART bridge for programming and serial debugging at up to 3 Mbps; the other provides native USB 2.0 Full Speed (12 Mbps) from the ESP32-C6 itself for USB device applications. An addressable RGB LED on GPIO8, a 3.3V power-on indicator, Boot and Reset buttons, and a current-measurement header round out the hardware.
A 5V-to-3.3V LDO on board means the kit runs from any USB power source. Peripherals include SPI, LCD, camera interface, UART, I2C, I2S, LED PWM, MCPWM, TWAI (CAN), ADC, touch, and temperature sensor support. The board is primarily intended for ESP-IDF development, with growing Arduino and MicroPython support.
