## Description

## Overview

The Waveshare ESP32-S3-LR1121 is a compact development board combining the ESP32-S3 dual-core processor with Semtech's third-generation LR1121 multi-band LoRa transceiver. Available in HF (850-930MHz + 2.4GHz) and LF (410-510MHz + 2.4GHz) variants, it supports LoRa, (G)FSK, and LR-FHSS modulation with typical ranges of 5km on Sub-GHz and 2km on 2.4GHz ISM band.

The board features a castellated module design at 41x21mm, making it suitable for both breadboard prototyping and direct soldering onto carrier PCBs. It includes an IPEX-1 antenna connector, TCXO crystal oscillator for frequency stability, and AES-128 hardware encryption. With Meshtastic firmware support, it can be used immediately for off-grid mesh networking.

The ESP32-S3 provides WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and BLE 5.0 connectivity alongside the LoRa radio, enabling dual-path communication for IoT gateways and sensor nodes that need both local wireless and long-range capabilities.
