Overview

The Radxa Rock 4D is a mid-range single-board computer built on the Rockchip RK3576 octa-core SoC (four Cortex-A72 + four Cortex-A53 cores) with an integrated Mali-G52 GPU and a 6 TOPS NPU for AI workloads. Available with 4 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, the board targets developers and makers who need solid performance without the premium price of RK3588-based designs.

Storage is flexible: an eMMC socket provides fast internal flash, while an M.2 M-key slot with NVMe support enables high-speed SSD connectivity. A UFS-ready option is also available. Connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.0, and a USB-C port. A 40-pin GPIO header ensures compatibility with the broader HAT accessory ecosystem.

Armbian offers both stable (6.1) and edge (6.19) kernel images for the Rock 4D in Desktop and Minimal/IoT flavours. The board is well-suited for tasks such as edge inference, media streaming, and general-purpose Linux development at a competitive price point.
