## Description

## Overview

The Radxa Rockpi S is a miniature single-board computer powered by the Rockchip RK3308 quad-core Cortex-A35 SoC, optimised for voice and audio applications. With a very small form factor and low power consumption, it is well-suited for smart speaker builds, audio streaming nodes, home automation controllers, and IoT gateway applications. It is available with 256 MB or 512 MB of DDR3 RAM and 4 GB or 8 GB of onboard eMMC flash, plus a microSD slot.

Connectivity includes a 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet port and a USB-C port for power and data. WiFi 4 and Bluetooth are available in optional variants (indicated by a 'W' suffix). The RK3308 SoC includes an integrated multi-channel audio codec that enables 8-channel microphone capture, making the board a hardware platform for voice processing. I2C, I2S, and SPI interfaces are exposed for sensor and peripheral integration.

Armbian provides minimal/IoT images based on Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 13 with kernel 6.18 for the Rockpi S. Specialised image variants for Home Assistant, OpenMediaVault, and Kali Linux are also available. The board runs at up to 1.3 GHz and supports Home Assistant, OpenMediaVault, and Kali Linux on top of standard Armbian images.
