Overview
The Netduino Plus 2 is the second-generation .NET Micro Framework development board from Secret Labs, featuring a significant upgrade from the original Netduino Plus with a 168MHz 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor, 384KB of flash, and over 100KB of RAM. It maintains full Arduino R3 pinout compatibility while adding 6 PWM channels and a 12-bit ADC.
Built around the same .NET Micro Framework philosophy, it allows embedded development in C# with full support for event-based programming, multi-threading, and line-by-line debugging via Visual Studio. The 5V-tolerant digital I/O supports driving LEDs directly at up to 25mA per pin without external components.
Ethernet with full TCP/IP stack and a microSD card slot make the Netduino Plus 2 a capable platform for data-logging and networked IoT applications. The 10-pin MiniJTAG debug header replaces the 6-pin ICSP of earlier boards, enabling richer debugging workflows. It is compatible with most Arduino shields and the broader .NET Micro Framework ecosystem.
