Bus Interfaces
The BigTreeTech SKR 3 EZ is a variant of the SKR 3 that introduces the EZ driver system — a simplified tool-free stepper driver socket with 5V logic signaling that eliminates orientation errors and simplifies installation. It shares the same powerful STM32H743VI ARM Cortex-M7 processor at 480MHz and FDCAN bus as the standard SKR 3.
The EZ driver system uses 5V logic level for stepper driver signal pins (vs 3.3V on SKR 3), making it compatible with the BTT EZ2209, EZ2208, EZ5160, EZ2130, and other EZ-series drivers. The thermistor pull-up resistor uses 2.2KΩ (vs 1KΩ on SKR 3), providing improved PT1000 temperature sensor accuracy at the same ADC resolution. All other hardware specifications are identical to the SKR 3.
Features include 5 EZ driver slots, 10A heated bed output, dual hotend outputs, 3 selectable-voltage CNC fan ports, WiFi via optional ESP module, CAN/FDCAN expansion, BLTouch, filament detection, RGB LEDs, and MicroSD storage. Input is 12–24V DC. Full open-source hardware is available on GitHub alongside firmware builds for Marlin, Klipper, and RepRapFirmware.
