Overview
The Adafruit ItsyBitsy ESP32 with wFL Antenna is the external-antenna variant of the ItsyBitsy ESP32, sharing the same ESP32 PICO ECO V3 SiP hardware but replacing the integrated PCB antenna with a w.FL (MHF3/IPEX3) connector. This allows connection of an external antenna for improved range, enclosure placement, or directional antenna configurations.
The ESP32 PICO ECO V3 packages dual Xtensa LX6 cores at 240 MHz alongside 8 MB flash, 2 MB PSRAM, and the RF circuitry in a single chip. Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth Classic (including audio SPP), and BLE 5 are all supported. The ItsyBitsy form factor measures approximately 35.6 × 17.8 × 7.2 mm, retaining the compact footprint while adding the external antenna capability.
Features mirror the PCB antenna variant: 20 GPIO pins, 13 analog-capable 12-bit ADC inputs, 2 DAC outputs, 8 capacitive touch pins, 600 mA 3.3V regulator, 10 µA deep sleep, NeoPixel with power control, red LED, STEMMA QT connector, reset switch, user switch on pin 35, and USB Micro-B with serial converter (no native USB). A 5V-level-shifted output is on D5. Compatible with Arduino, CircuitPython, and MicroPython. Antenna sold separately.
