Overview

The ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N4 is a compact surface-mount Wi-Fi 6 and 802.15.4 combo module from Espressif, built around the ESP32-C6 SoC. Unlike a complete development board, this is a bare engineering module intended for advanced users who solder it directly onto their own PCB designs. It measures 25.5 × 18.0 × 3.2 mm and includes a PCB antenna, making external antenna hardware unnecessary for most applications.

The ESP32-C6 RISC-V core runs at up to 160 MHz and delivers excellent low-power performance for battery-operated IoT devices. Wireless capabilities span Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax, 2.4 GHz only), Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee 3.0, and Thread — covering virtually every modern IoT wireless protocol. The module carries 4 MB of Quad SPI flash, 512 KB SRAM, and 16 KB of low-power SRAM for deep-sleep tasks.

With up to 30 GPIO pins (QFN40 package) supporting SPI, UART, I2C, I2S, RMT, TWAI, and PWM, it is well-suited for smart home devices, industrial sensors, and wearable electronics. The 4MB variant (N4) is no longer stocked by Adafruit; the 8MB N8 variant (product 5671) remains available.
