## Description

## Overview

The Radxa NIO 12L is a compact single-board computer powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 (MT8395) SoC, an octa-core chip combining one high-performance Cortex-A78 core at 3.0 GHz with three more Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, paired with a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. This makes the NIO 12L one of the most powerful Dimensity-based SBCs available, bridging the gap between traditional maker boards and flagship mobile SoC performance.

The board is available with 8 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with a microSD slot for additional capacity. Wireless connectivity includes WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2. Wired networking is provided by a Gigabit Ethernet port, and the primary data/power interface is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port powered at 5V. An M.2 slot adds support for NVMe SSDs, significantly expanding storage options.

Armbian supports the NIO 12L with mainline Linux, enabling Radxa's board to run a full Debian-based system while benefiting from the Dimensity 1200's strong multi-core performance. The combination of high-speed RAM, fast eMMC, WiFi 6, and NVMe support makes the NIO 12L well-suited for edge computing, AI inference, compact server applications, and desktop Linux use cases.
