## Description

## Overview

The Orange Pi 5 Plus is the flagship single-board computer from Xunlong, built on the full Rockchip RK3588 octa-core SoC. Unlike the RK3588S variant used in the Orange Pi 5, the RK3588 adds dual PCIe 3.0 lanes, enabling a dedicated M.2 NVMe slot alongside expanded I/O. The board ships in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB LPDDR4X configurations — the 32GB option being rare among maker SBCs.

Connectivity is notably enhanced: two independent Gigabit Ethernet ports provide network redundancy or link aggregation for NAS and server use cases. The onboard Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 eliminate the need for an external wireless module. Display output supports dual HDMI 2.1 up to 8K, alongside a DisplayPort output. Storage options include the M.2 NVMe slot, eMMC module socket, microSD card, and SPI flash for bootloader storage.

Armbian provides standard-level support for the Orange Pi 5 Plus with Ubuntu Noble and Debian Trixie images, full hardware video acceleration in Kodi and Chromium via GBM/Wayland, and kernel 6.1 and 6.12 options. Its combination of high RAM ceiling, dual Ethernet, NVMe, and Wi-Fi 6 makes it an exceptional platform for home servers, edge AI nodes, and advanced desktop builds.
