## Description

The OpenEPaperLink Access Point C6+S3 is a fully assembled, ready-to-use wireless hub for controlling electronic paper display tags. Based on ATC1441's Yellow AP open-source design, it pairs an ESP32-C6 for WiFi network connectivity with an ESP32-S3 acting as a dedicated 2.4GHz RF transceiver. This dual-MCU architecture enables the access point to communicate with e-paper tags using the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol while simultaneously maintaining a web interface accessible over WiFi for configuration and content management.

The device comes pre-flashed with OpenEPaperLink firmware and features a professionally manufactured 2-layer PCB. It is designed for users who want OpenEPaperLink functionality without soldering or assembling hardware themselves. Once powered via USB, the access point creates a WiFi network for initial setup, after which it can be connected to an existing home or office network. From the built-in web UI, users can push images, text, sensor data, and Home Assistant dashboard content to any compatible e-paper tag within RF range.

OpenEPaperLink supports a wide range of repurposed commercial electronic shelf label (ESL) tags from manufacturers like Solum, which can be acquired inexpensively on the secondary market. The system uses an efficient RF protocol where tags periodically check in with the access point to receive updated content, achieving approximately 5 KB/s transfer speeds with ultra-low tag power consumption around 9 microamps during sleep. This makes the platform ideal for smart home dashboards, retail price displays, warehouse labeling, meeting room signs, and any application requiring low-power, always-on information displays.
