TQ-Systems MBa8MPxL

Overview

The TQ-Systems MBa8MPxL is a large-form-factor industrial carrier board designed for the TQMa8MPxL SOM based on the NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor. Compared to the compact RAS314 variant, the MBa8MPxL exposes a significantly wider set of I/O interfaces including PCIe, SATA, and additional expansion connectors, making it suitable for gateway, NAS, and industrial control platform use cases.

Onboard the SOM are 4GB LPDDR4 and 16GB eMMC. The carrier provides dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, USB-C, HDMI, MIPI DSI/CSI, and the full suite of industrial communication peripherals (RS-485, CAN, SPI, I2C). The 12V DC power input allows straightforward integration into industrial enclosures and DIN-rail power supplies.

Armbian maintains support for the MBa8MPxL, providing current Debian and Ubuntu image builds. TQ-Systems provides industrial-grade longevity programs for the SOM, making the combination attractive for products requiring 10+ year availability.
