Overview

The TQ-Systems MBa8MP-RAS314 is a compact industrial carrier board designed for the TQMa8MPxL System-on-Module (SOM), which is powered by the NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor. The board targets industrial automation, machine vision, and HMI applications where the combination of a real-time Cortex-M7 co-processor and a 2 TOPS NPU provides both deterministic control and local inference capabilities.

The board ships with up to 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 16GB eMMC storage on the SOM, and is complemented by a microSD card slot for additional media. Connectivity is industrial-grade: Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 5 (802.11ac) with Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.0 Type-A, and a USB-C port. Power is supplied via a standard 12V DC barrel connector, making it compatible with industrial PSU infrastructure.

Armbian provides mainline-based Linux images for the MBa8MP-RAS314, enabling a full Debian or Ubuntu environment on this carrier board. The board is part of TQ-Group's industrial-grade embedded Linux ecosystem, supported by long-term hardware availability and industrial temperature ratings.
