Overview

The TI SK-AM62-SIP is a Starter Kit based on the AM62x Sitara System-in-Package (SiP), where the AM62x processor and 512MB LPDDR4 memory are integrated into a single compact package. This SiP approach reduces BOM complexity and PCB area dramatically, enabling ultra-small product designs without sacrificing the full capabilities of the AM62x quad-core Cortex-A53 + Cortex-M4F platform.

The evaluation board provides a microSD boot slot, 100Mbps Ethernet, USB-C, and a 5V USB-C power input. The integrated 512MB LPDDR4 is sufficient for headless IoT and industrial gateway applications, and the board supports dual-display output via HDMI (DPI) and LVDS at up to 2K/60fps. The AM62x SiP also includes high-security field-securable silicon options for applications requiring hardware root-of-trust.

Armbian supports the SK-AM62-SIP, providing current Linux kernel images for evaluation. This board is ideal for engineers designing ultra-compact industrial IoT nodes and HMI panels who need to evaluate the AM62x SiP before committing to a custom PCB design.
