## Overview

The Ai-Thinker Ra-09-DTU is an intelligent wireless data communication device that bridges RS485 serial devices to LoRaWAN networks. Built around the STM32WLE5CCU6 — an ARM Cortex-M4 MCU with an integrated Sub-GHz LoRa transceiver — it eliminates the need for a separate LoRa radio chip, resulting in a compact and power-efficient design.

Designed for industrial deployment, the Ra-09-DTU accepts a wide 6–36V DC power input and features an electrically isolated RS485 interface for reliable communication in noisy environments. LED indicators provide real-time status for each data channel, and the device supports DIN rail mounting for easy integration into electrical cabinets and control panels.

The DTU ships with pre-loaded AT firmware for out-of-the-box LoRaWAN connectivity, supporting both OTAA and ABP activation modes. Firmware can be updated over-the-air (OTA), and the open-source STM32CubeWL SDK enables custom firmware development using Keil or STM32CubeIDE via SWD programming. Operating at 410–525MHz with +22dBm transmit power and -140dBm receive sensitivity (SF12/BW125kHz), the Ra-09-DTU delivers ultra-long-range wireless communication for smart metering, agricultural monitoring, and industrial IoT applications.
