TinyIO — Sub-GHz RF Sniffer and Replayer on LILYGO T-QT Pro
A sub-GHz RF signal sniffer and replayer built on the LILYGO T-QT Pro paired with a CC1101 radio module, capable of copying, storing, and replaying ASK-OOK signals from garage doors, doorbells, and wireless sensors.
Overview
TinyIO is an open-source sub-GHz wireless toolkit that pairs the LILYGO T-QT Pro's tiny ESP32-S3 form factor with a CC1101 radio module. It is a port of the IO433 project adapted for the T-QT Pro's 0.85" display and two-button navigation. The result is a pocket-sized device that can sniff, decode, store, and replay RF signals below 1 GHz using ASK-OOK modulation — the protocol used by most garage door openers, remote doorbells, and wireless weather sensors.
Features
- Sniff ASK-OOK signals from nearby RF remotes
- Copy and store captured signal codes on the device
- Replay stored codes to activate the original device
- Dump raw signal data for analysis in PulseView/sigrok with a bundled modified PWM decoder
- Two-button navigation interface on the T-QT Pro's 0.85" LCD
Bill of Materials
- LILYGO T-QT Pro (ESP32-S3)
- CC1101 sub-GHz radio module (connected via SPI)
- Optional: 3.7V LiPo battery and acrylic/3D-printed enclosure
Technical Details
Built with PlatformIO. The CC1101 is wired to the T-QT Pro's exposed GPIO pins. The project is a direct descendant of Kripthor's IO433 and maintains the same philosophy of simplicity and reliability with minimal components.
