## Description

## Overview

The Clearfog PRO is an industrial-grade network computing platform from SolidRun, designed around the Marvell Armada 388 (88F6828) dual-core Cortex-A9 SoC. Unlike typical maker SBCs, the Clearfog PRO is purpose-built for networking and storage applications, featuring dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, an SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber/copper combo port, two mini PCIe slots for cellular modems or WiFi cards, and dual SATA ports for direct disk attachment.

The board ships with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage, plus a microSD slot for additional storage or OS imaging. A hardware cryptographic acceleration engine built into the Armada 388 SoC provides efficient IPsec and TLS offloading, making the Clearfog PRO a natural platform for VPN gateways and encrypted traffic routing without burdening the CPU cores. The 12V DC power input is suitable for ATX power supplies or standard industrial adapters.

Running Armbian or the OpenWrt community builds, the Clearfog PRO is well-suited for building high-performance home routers, firewall appliances, small NAS servers, and WAN edge appliances. Its combination of open schematics, strong community support, and the robust Armada 388 networking stack make it a preferred choice among network-savvy makers and small-business deployments requiring more than commodity router hardware.
