Overview

The ESP32-H2-MINI-1 is a compact surface-mount engineering module from Espressif based on the ESP32-H2 SoC, designed for advanced users who need Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee 3.0, Thread, and Matter in a small footprint without Wi-Fi. The module integrates a PCB antenna and includes 4 MB of SPI flash, making it self-contained for most IoT applications.

The ESP32-H2 core is a single 32-bit RISC-V processor running at 96 MHz. Its IEEE 802.15.4 radio enables both Zigbee and Thread/Matter communication for smart home integration, while BLE 5 handles local device connectivity. The SoC includes hardware cryptographic accelerators (AES-128/256, SHA, RSA, ECC, HMAC) and secure boot for production-grade security. Up to 19 GPIO pins support I2C, I2S, SPI, UART, ADC, LED PWM, GDMA, TWAI, MCPWM, and USB Serial/JTAG.

This is a bare module requiring soldering onto a custom PCB with supporting power supply and circuitry. For prototyping, the ESP32-H2-DevKitM-1 development board (product 5715) is the recommended starting point. Well-suited for smart light switches, sensors, and other mains-powered smart home nodes.
