## Description

## Overview

The LILYGO Module17 Revision 0.1E is an open-source STM32-based modem board implementing the M17 digital amateur radio protocol. M17 is a modern open-source digital radio protocol designed as a free alternative to proprietary systems like DMR and D-STAR, supporting digital voice (Codec2 vocoder) and data transmission over VHF/UHF frequencies. The module connects to compatible radio transceivers via a DE-9 serial connector and is compatible with the OpenRTX open-source radio firmware. It also works with Droid Star software for linking to digital radio networks. Available in two variants: soldered with an optional display screen, or non-soldered without screen for DIY integration. The configurable serial interface allows flexible integration with different radio platforms including the FTM-6000.
