Flock-You: Surveillance Camera Detector
ESP32-S3 firmware that detects Flock Safety ALPR cameras and Raven gunshot detectors using BLE heuristics, with GPS wardriving, web dashboard, and KML/CSV/JSON export for Google Earth mapping.
Flock-You: Surveillance Camera Detector
Flock-You is a standalone BLE surveillance device detector for the Oui-Spy and compatible XIAO ESP32-S3 boards. It identifies Flock Safety automated license plate reader cameras and Raven gunshot detectors in the wild using Bluetooth Low Energy heuristics.
Features
- WiFi Access Point: Creates a network named "flockyou" with live dashboard at 192.168.4.1
- GPS Wardriving: Tags detections with coordinates from browser Geolocation API (Android Chrome)
- Session Persistence: Auto-saves detections to device flash memory every 60 seconds
- Export Options: JSON, CSV, and KML (Google Earth) formats
- Audio Alerts: Crow-call boot sounds and chirps for new detections
- Storage: Records for up to 200 unique devices
Detection Methods
- MAC address prefix matching (20 known Flock Safety prefixes)
- Device name substring matching for "Flock" and "Penguin" identifiers
- Manufacturer ID scanning (0x09C8 XUNTONG identifier)
- Raven service UUID fingerprinting
- Firmware version estimation from advertised services
Companion Tools
A Flask desktop companion application enables analysis of collected data. The community has also created documentation at virtuallyscott.github.io/flock-you and several forks including an ESP32-C3 OLED version.
