## Description

## Overview

The Banana Pi M2S is a mid-range single-board computer from SinoVoip built around the Amlogic S922X hexa-core SoC — four Cortex-A73 cores at 1.8 GHz plus two Cortex-A53 cores at 1.9 GHz. It ships with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 16GB eMMC storage, and adds a microSD card slot for flexible OS and data storage. The S922X is widely regarded as a solid media and NAS platform with well-established community kernel support.

Wireless connectivity is built-in via a dual-band 802.11ac (WiFi 5) and Bluetooth 5.0 combo module. Wired networking is provided by a native Gigabit Ethernet port. The board offers four USB 3.0 Type-A ports plus a USB 3.0 Type-C port, making it excellent for external storage arrays. HDMI 2.1 output supports 4K display output, and the 40-pin GPIO header provides standard embedded interfaces.

The M2S is powered by a 12V DC barrel jack. Armbian offers standard support images including desktop, minimal/IOT, Home Assistant, and OpenMediaVault variants, making it a well-supported choice for self-hosted server and media player builds.
