## Description

## Overview

The Banana Pi M2 Pro is a compact single-board computer from SinoVoip based on the Amlogic S905X3 quad-core Cortex-A55 SoC running at up to 2.0 GHz. It ships with 2GB of DDR4 RAM and 16GB eMMC storage, plus a microSD card slot. Despite its smaller memory footprint compared to the M5 sibling, it includes built-in wireless connectivity — dual-band 802.11ac (WiFi 5) and Bluetooth 5.0 — making it more versatile for IoT and smart home applications.

The board provides three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a USB 3.0 Type-C port for peripherals and storage, along with a Gigabit Ethernet port for reliable wired networking. HDMI 2.1 supports 4K output, and a 40-pin GPIO header enables integration with embedded hardware and sensors. Power is supplied via a USB-C connector at 5V, making it compatible with standard phone chargers and power banks.

Armbian supports the M2 Pro with standard kernel images including minimal/IOT and desktop variants. Its compact size, USB-C power, and integrated WiFi make it well-suited for Home Assistant hosts, media players, and lightweight server applications.
