## Description

## Overview

The Radxa E54C is a high-performance edge gateway board powered by the Rockchip RK3588S octa-core SoC (four Cortex-A76 + four Cortex-A55 cores) with a 6 TOPS NPU — the same powerful processor family found in the Rock 5B flagship SBC. The board is specifically designed for demanding networking and edge computing scenarios, featuring four Gigabit Ethernet ports (three LAN + one WAN) via a Realtek RTL8367RB switch chip for multi-port gateway or switch applications.

With 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, onboard eMMC storage, PCIe expansion slots, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and HDMI output with audio, the E54C bridges the gap between a capable Linux computer and a purpose-built network appliance. Power is supplied via a 12 V DC barrel jack suitable for rack and industrial enclosures. All four Ethernet ports demonstrate ~960 Mbit/s throughput in real-world testing.

Armbian provides standard support images with kernel 6.1 for Debian and Ubuntu distributions in both minimal and desktop configurations. The E54C is targeted at telecom edge nodes, industrial IoT gateways, AI-accelerated network inspection, and high-throughput routing applications where the RK3588S NPU can offload classification or detection tasks.
