Overview

PlantStatus is a plant monitoring and logging application built for the LilyGO TTGO T-HiGrow ESP32 board. It provides real-time plant health metrics via a web interface, integrates with Home Assistant, and logs historical data to local files accessible via a browser.

The device reads soil moisture, soil conductivity, ambient light (lux), temperature (DHT11 or BME280), and optionally battery voltage, then publishes all data to Home Assistant via MQTT or direct API.

Features

  • Real-time live measurements on a built-in web page
  • Home Assistant integration (sensor cards, logbook, device page)
  • MQTT support for recording measurements and triggering automations
  • Configuration portal (WiFi setup, sensor calibration)
  • Log file recording with date-organized directories
  • Chart history graphs in the web UI
  • OTA firmware update support

Hardware

  • LILYGO T-HiGrow ESP32 (soil moisture, conductivity, light, DHT11/BME280)
  • LiPo battery (optional for portable use)
  • PlatformIO / Arduino framework

Build

Flash via PlatformIO. Configure WiFi, MQTT broker, and HA settings through the web portal on first boot. Calibration instructions are included in the README.
