Overview
The LILYGO T-SIM7600E is the European regional variant of LILYGO's SIM7000 series cellular development boards. It features the SIM7000E modem, which is optimized for LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT bands used across Europe, alongside legacy GSM/GPRS/EDGE fallback. An integrated GPS module in the SIM7000E enables location-aware applications.
The board is built around the ESP32-WROVER-B module with 8MB PSRAM and 4MB Flash. Power flexibility is provided through three input options: USB Type-C (5V), an 18650 cylindrical Li-Ion battery holder, and a 2-pin JST 2.0mm solar charging input for off-grid energy harvesting. A TF (microSD) card slot enables local data logging.
The TinyGSM library provides a simple, modem-agnostic API for TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT, and SMS communication through the SIM7000E. The board is functionally very similar to the T-SIM7000G but uses the European band configuration of the SIM7000E modem instead of the global SIM7000G. Both LTE and GPS antennas are included in the package.
This board is appropriate for European smart agriculture sensors, environmental monitoring nodes, remote asset tracking in EU networks, and any low-power cellular IoT application across European frequency bands.
Firmware Compatibility
- Arduino: Fully supported with TinyGSM library (modem type: TINY_GSM_MODEM_SIM7000).
- ESP-IDF: Supported via direct AT command UART interface.
Flashing Guide
- Install the CH9102 driver from WCH.
- Connect via USB Type-C cable.
- In Arduino IDE, select "ESP32 Wrover Module" and the correct COM port.
- Install the TinyGSM library and configure for SIM7000 modem type.
- Insert a nano SIM card with European LTE Cat-M or NB-IoT support.
- Connect the LTE antenna and GPS antenna before powering up.
