Overview

This project turns the LILYGO T4 S3 into a dedicated remote display for the Valentine One Gen 2 radar detector. It communicates over BLE, showing real-time directional arrows (front/side/rear), band information in GHz, per-alert signal strength, and an alert table supporting up to four simultaneous alerts. Priority alert band and direction blink when multiple alerts are active.

Features

  • BLE auto-scan that connects to a V1 Gen2 or V1C LE advertising the appropriate BLE service/characteristics
  • GPS support including SilentRide and location-based automatic lockouts
  • WiFi Access Point for web-based device configuration at 192.168.242.1
  • Wireless charging and battery-powered operation
  • OTA firmware updates
  • Store/demo mode for display testing

Technical Details

The firmware is written in C++ using PlatformIO and the Arduino framework. It targets the T4 S3's ESP32-S3 MCU and uses the 2.41" AMOLED touch display in landscape mode. Pre-built binaries are available in the repo's releases — flash spiffs.bin as the filesystem image and firmware.bin as the main firmware.
