T-SIM7000G LTE GPS Tracker for Traccar
Arduino firmware that turns the LILYGO T-SIM7000G into a real-time LTE-based GPS tracker reporting position to a self-hosted Traccar server over the cellular network.
Overview
This project provides ready-to-flash Arduino firmware that configures the LILYGO T-SIM7000G as a cellular GPS tracker compatible with the open-source Traccar fleet management platform. The tracker connects to LTE-M or NB-IoT networks, acquires GPS coordinates from the onboard GNSS module, and transmits position reports to a Traccar server instance at configurable intervals.
Features
The firmware communicates with the SIM7000G modem over UART using the TinyGSM library and sends standard Traccar OsmAnd protocol packets via TCP. Key parameters — APN settings, Traccar server address and port, unique device ID, and transmission delay — are all configurable in the source code before flashing.
The board's built-in 18650 battery holder and optional solar charging input make this suitable for vehicle tracking or asset monitoring deployments where mains power is unavailable. The SIM7000G's low-power NB-IoT mode helps extend battery life between charges.
Getting Started
Clone the repository, edit the configuration constants at the top of traccar.ino with your APN, server address, and Traccar device ID, then compile and upload via the Arduino IDE. Verify your SIM card supports the LTE-M or NB-IoT bands active in your region before deployment.
